Sure manny people think almost exclusively about fit when it come to custom & that makes sense. However let's bypass that topic for one often overlooked in the custom world: selection. T^o help we break this down into two distinct categories for you... styling options & fabric offerings.
Fabrics: Think of walking into a big department store & seeing maybe 4 or 5 coats in roughly your size (hopefully). Then you pick from those handful for what it is your seeking - overcoat, rain coat, peacoat, etc... and then the color you want. Congratulations you've exhausted the options of the department store already.
When commissioning your custom made outerwear pieces from us you select from a wide range of fabrics (100s technically) which are offered to achieve different effects. One of our preferred fabric mills for outerwear is world renowned Loro Piana. Offering luxe fabrics for elegant topcoats cut from their finest cashmere to unique blends with Chinchilla & Vicuna. Or opt for their well known & respected storm system collection to really protect from all mother nature has to throw at you. Protecting you from rain, wind, sleet, & snow the Loro Piana storm system cloth cannot be beat. Today it is offered in 3 qualities: 100% wool, a wool & cashmere blend and 100% cashmere. All crafted in their own mills in Italy.
Looking for something else? Loro Piana offers a full color range of fabric for custom made rain coats. Or searching for something with a unique look? Choose one of our exploded plaid topcoat fabrics in a sturdy English or Scottish tweed. Either way as you can see, the options & nearly endless.
Styling: Looking for single breasted or double breasted? An organ pleated vent? A tie belt or a buckle belt? Peak or notch lapels? A classic chesterfield style? Gussets cut in the back for a sportier style & more movement? Ornate cuff style or something simple? All & more are available for your design needs & wants.
So of course fit is what we most often associate with custom made. Indeed your custom garments with be individually crafted & tailored to your body. But as we see the selections open to the client for what can be acquired far outpace the department store or even shopping for something online.
